Volta Dining Table

$5,499.00 CAD

★★★★★  4.88 from 50 verified reviews

The Volta Dining Table is defined by its bold, architectural base, a sculptural arrangement of arched panels that frame negative space with precision and intention. The superellipse tabletop, with its softly rounded corners and beveled edge profile, sits in quiet contrast to the structural drama below.

Crafted from solid hardwood with visible grain character, the Volta is made to order and fully customizable in size and finish.

Seating Guide

Table Sizing

Seating Guide

A practical reference for choosing the right table size for your space and the people you'll gather. Seat counts assume comfortable elbow room: enough for a long meal, not a packed banquet.

Capacity depends on chair width. We've calculated these counts using the industry-standard 20" chair with 2" of breathing room on each side, or 24" of table edge per person. Wider armchairs will reduce capacity; armless side chairs may allow for one more.

Rectangular

The classic. Defined ends, generous in length, suits most dining rooms.

5

Delivered to your door

After final quality inspection, your table ships fully crated and insured, straight to your home.

Built to Last

Made to be passed down, not replaced.

Most large dining tables are thin wood glued over particle board. Ours are built from solid wood, braced underneath to stay flat, and made to stay in your family for decades.

01

Real solid wood

No particle board and no thin veneer. Every part is solid wood, dried slowly so it stays flat and will not crack as the seasons change.

02

A top braced to stay flat

Hidden bracing runs beneath every top. Thick tops carry steel bars; slimmer tops carry solid hardwood ribs that work the same way. Either way, the surface stays perfectly flat for years, even under the weight of a full holiday dinner.

03

A rock-solid base

The base is bolted to the top with heavy steel hardware. It feels completely solid, and it comes apart safely if you ever need to move.

04

Thick and substantial

The top and legs* are made from generous wood you feel the moment you touch them. Nothing here is hollow or flimsy.

*We rarely use veneer for legs or bases, but when we do, it is always clearly identified in the product details.

Proof you can see.

Anyone can write solid wood. We would rather show you what is under the top.

An oval wooden dining table with a rich medium-brown finish, supported by two sculptural, flared pedestal bases, set against a neutral gray studio background.
Technical drawings before a board is cut
Steel where it counts
An edge you can measure
Two planks of the same wood will never match. That is how you know it is real.

On natural variation

The same oak, two different stories
Grain, mineral lines, small knots
Marks of a tree, not a printer

No two are ever alike.

From Our Door to Yours

It arrives finished, whole, and insured.

Your table leaves our atelier fully assembled and crated top to bottom. We photograph every piece before it leaves the shop, and every shipment is insured for its full value.

How it ships

Fully assembled

No hardware bags, no instructions. Your table arrives ready for dinner.

Crated top to bottom

A custom wooden crate protects every edge and corner in transit.

Insured, door to door

Our warranty covers how your table is built. The freight insurance covers how it travels.

Delivery day, done right

  1. Check the crate

Walk around it before signing anything.

  2. Open it and inspect the piece

Transport can jostle what a crate cannot show. Take the time to look the table over.

  3. If anything is wrong, write it down

Note it on the delivery slip, called the Bill of Lading, before signing, or refuse the delivery. Then send us photos.

  4. We make it right

That note activates the insurance and lets us repair or replace at no cost to you. A slip signed without a note means a claim cannot be made afterwards.

Freight delivery brings the crate to the front of your home. White glove delivery, with placement inside, is available anywhere by quote, typically 10 to 20 percent of your order value.

10 years

Craftsmanship Warranty

The warranty covers how it is built. The freight insurance covers how it travels. Together, you are covered from our workshop door to yours.

If a defect in materials or workmanship appears within ten years of delivery, we repair, replace or refund.

The warranty stays with you, the original owner, because we cannot know how a piece was moved or cared for once it changes hands. The table itself is built to outlast its warranty many times over.

Caring for it is simple: a soft cloth, no harsh chemicals, and steady indoor humidity.

Before You Decide

Questions, answered.

Anything else? Write to us at info@ref-co.ca, or book a call with the team.

What do I pay, and when?

Online orders are paid in full at checkout, and financing options are available at checkout. For bespoke projects quoted by our team, payment terms are confirmed with your quote.

Can I change my mind?

Nothing is locked in at checkout. Until you approve your technical drawings and samples, you can adjust the dimensions, wood, finish and details with our team. Once you approve the drawings, your table is built exactly as approved and the order is final. If something changes on your end, write to us right away and we will find the best path together.

What if it arrives damaged?

Every table is photographed before it leaves the shop, crated top to bottom, and insured in transit. On delivery day, check the crate, open it and inspect the piece. If anything is wrong, note it on the delivery slip before signing, or refuse the delivery, then send us photos. We repair or replace at no cost to you.

Will it fit through my door?

Tables ship fully assembled in a crate, so this starts with you: tell us about your access before anything else. Doorways, hallways, stairs, elevators, tight corners. If you live in a condo or a tower, reserving the elevator and providing any documents your building requires is your responsibility, and we can only book delivery once that is in place. If a piece cannot fit assembled, we design it to come apart safely.

Will the wood match my floors?

Order wood samples finished exactly like our tables and hold them against your floors in your own light. Samples are $15 each, shipped free, and every dollar is credited when you order your table. And if none of our finishes is quite right, our colour match service can tune a finish to your floor or a reference you provide, for a fee.

Why does it cost more than a big-box table?

Big-box tables are thin wood over particle board, built to be replaced. Ours are solid hardwood, braced to stay flat, made to order in Canada, and backed for ten years. You are not paying more for a table. You are paying once.

Not ready to decide? Start with the wood.

A sample in your hands says more than any screen. $15, shipped free, credited in full when you order your table.
